off work again
ankle aches
back hurts
sick of being sore,
crafting again
can't do much because it aches
short spurts
tired of being sore,
nap again?
was house in a quake
thinking hurts
tired of being sore.
lol this poem is awful but it is what I felt like doing.

Musings/ramblings on the dogs in my life!
I have discovered that all dogs shed! Even when people say they don't.
Now I've always known that but with having 3 dogs at my home I will tell you that they all shed differently and never at the same time! In my house my chocolate lab sheds the least, my son's Llewellyn Setter is next in line and my yellow lab definately outsheds any dog I have ever met. She cannot even move without hair falling off her and I swear sometimes it jumps off of her onto the closest person especially if they are wearing black. That being said I still wouldn't trade them for anything!
Next if anyone thinks dogs are stupid think again...when is the last time you had someone walk around behind you picking up your shit!?!?!? Has your signifigant other ever gotten out of a warm bed to take you outside in the middle of a storm???? They get served 3 meals a day and never have to go to the grocery store, someone brushes their hair for them and they even have us trained to rub their bellies and scratch their ears. All they have to do to get their favorite snack is sit down or look cute!
I have learned many lessons from my dogs, first no two dogs are alike and you always think your dogs are better than anyone elses. Now you would think because I have taught my 2 dogs to come when they want to (lol you thought I was going to come when called) that I would be able to do the same with my son's or my daughter's not so. Duke is a bird dog therefore birds out rank any human and if they call he will go as fast as he can to them in the opposite direction of where you want him to. Secondly being smaller means he can be a lot sneakier, and if you turn your back on him your food it is fair game. Now I mentioned my daughter's dogs and speaking of turning your back on them these 2 decided the night I was dog sitting that it would be a good idea to bolt out the door which I thought was closed and play in the pouring rain for most of the night for one who my son tackled when the dog stopped long enough to pee and the other for the entire night. For some reason she doesn't ask me to babysit oops I mean dog sit very often.
Now today's lesson was when dogs are napping and being quiet they do not want you to load the dishwasher. I made that mistake and Duke decided that he would eliminate some of my dishes so I wouldn't disturb his sleep again. As I was loading the dishwasher and Duke was standing there watching me the bottom rack of the dishwasher jumped out and grabbed him by the throat, he immediately backed up at break neck speed pulling the rack with him dirty dishes flying randomly out of it to break in different places across the floor, now thankfully the kitchen chair saw what was happening and jumped on top of the rack knocking the few dishes that were left out of the rack so that it would release Duke. Now this all took about 10 seconds but it totally freaked him out. He waited until I had made sure he wasn't hurt and I had cleaned up all of the glass then he tried to climb into my arms to be snuggled. Who could be upset with those floppy ears and big brown eyes and the pasta bowls can be replace much easier than he could. But I have learned my lesson for the day, the dogs are napping again and I am staying put so as to keep the rest of my house intack.
Enjoy your dogs they are blessings from God.

Fundy Lobster Boat Tours
Just got back from a great tour of the Bay of Fundy or at least my little section of it! I left the quiet village of Alma around 6:15 and headed out into the bay. I couldn't have planned a better evening, there was just a gentle breeze blowing which meant no waves, which is good because it has been more years than I care to mention since I've been out on a lobster boat.
As we left the harbour we turned to the port side of the boat (left) and travelled up the bay with Two Rivers being our destination. We travelled past Owl's Head (our Captain's favorite part of the voyage) and parallel to some amazing cliffs.
Our first stop was to bring in a lobster trap, now since I grew up in this area you would think that was something I would have seen by now but no, that was a first for me. I even got to band a lobster, so very cool. Then the captain showed us how a trap works and explained how and why the lobsters go in. Seems a small lobster goes in to eat the bait and then a bigger lobster will follow him and so on. No we didn't get to keep them on the way back he put the trap back into the water so his next group could repeat the lesson.
From here we travelled up the Bay to Cape Enrage (voted best view in Canada by Fromers Travel Guide). The red roofs and white walls make this spot stand out atop of the cliffs. Cape Enrage offers zip lining, repelling and a gorgeous view. However it looks very different from the Bay a must see.
Up the Bay we head past seagulls, beaches, cliffs, lots of bouys and almost into Two Rivers beach but unfortunately the tides were not co-operating and we had to turn around with in eye sight of it.
Turning back towards Alma you would think would not be as interesting because we'd already seen it right? Wrong. Just the fact the the sun was coming from a different angle made everything look new! Shortly after we turned we got a glimpse of a porpoise, well everyone else got to see it I only got a glimpse because I was in the head. (What can I say it is a 2 1/2 hr trip). He arched through the waves several times much to the delight of all aboard.
Now I've always said I live in a place of breath taking beauty and with the sun starting to angle low to the horizon and just a few clouds in the beautiful blue sky, photo ops were plentiful. The sun glistening on the waves and peeking from behind the clouds made for wonderful photos. It also turned the cliffs into many different shades and made interesting shadows. By now it is starting to get a bit chilly but a light sweater is all that is needed.
Everyone got to head up to the Bridge to see how to steer the boat and try their hand at it (no worry's the First Mate was right there of course). Finally as the tide was getting low and the horizon started to turn pink, we glided in to dock, back where we started. With a flurry of activity the boat was tied to the dock and we were back on land. After a few staggered steps my land legs were back. I can't wait to do it again! I wonder if tomorrow morning is too early!

A Poem for Dad
Dad,
kind hearted, gentle soul,
You left this world too soon,
I miss your laughter, and your hugs.
Life goes on with out you
the music has started to return
the days go forward
the tears are fewer.
My heart aches less with each passing day
but your presence will always be missed
I miss your smile and your songs
and for you my heart still longs
The seasons move forward
the healing begins
but those missed years
I would like to have again
family and friends
love, laughter and tears
good times and bad
heartache and fears
These are all part of living
the good and the bad
the past and the future
the life that we had
I wish we'd had more time
to spend together
but now you are gone
I miss you, Dad
kind hearted, gentle soul,
You left this world too soon,
I miss your laughter, and your hugs.
the music has started to return
the days go forward
the tears are fewer.
My heart aches less with each passing day
but your presence will always be missed

but now you are gone
I miss you, Dad

new addiction
So my friend was in last night looking at tattoos (online) as her and another friend are going to get one today, so in our search she decided that she liked the tribal tats the best and they reminded me of the Ukrainian eggs that I make, which in turn reminded me of Mehndi! For those of you who don't know what Mehndi is, it is a very old craft where woman use henna to temporarily stain their hands with different lines, flowers, dots, curves etc. So last night after looking at these we drove an hour into town to see if we could find henna and found it at our first stop! Well she is much braver than I am and more confident in my artistic abilities than I am so she bought the Henna and I bought body paint which doesn't take as much of a commitment! (just incase I messed up) So while sitting at the market I painted 3 different designs on my hand and I can't wait to make another which is another benefit of using the body paint to start with. I think I may practice a bit more, buy some more colors and start doing face painting for the kids at the market.
Just what I needed another addiction! Great!

Wow life has been busy lately I guess haven't had time to say anything on here for a few days and if you know me it is very unusual for me to be at a loss for words! LOL
The rain has finally stopped for the most part and the humming birds have arrived. Yesterday I had a flock of hummers in my front yard, so cool never seen that many at one time before! I put a shepherds hook up to hang my feeder on and almost took out my picture window! (lol don't know how I would have explained the stupidity of that to my husband)
Made a major score of yarn for my stitch group from a friend who is moving, she wanted it to be used to benefit children/charity so I will give it to the ladies in my group who are great at making blankets for children who are going through difficult times.
My husband left on another trip this morning, almost didn't make it we slept in and got up at 5am we are an hour from the airport and he had to be there for 6:20 so a very quick shower and shave while I finished packing his bags and we were off. Only problem was we discovered he didn't have his debit card so mine is on a trip without me! Hope I can live without it for a few days.
